Koussa mihshi bi laban

Main dish

  • 2 kg of medium-sized koussa (zucchini)
  • 1½ kg of Laban
  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed with a dash of salt
  • Leaves of 5 finely chopped mint stalks
  • 4 cups of water
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ kg of ground meat
  • 1 ½ cups of rice
  • 2 teaspoons of shortening or butter
  • A dash of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup of fried pine nuts
  • Cook Laban
  • Wash koussa, cut off stem and hollow them with an apple corer.
  • Mix all ingredients of filling
  • Stuff koussa. Put in a pot with water, salt, and 1/4 the quantity of cooked Laban. Cook over medium heat for 30 minutes
  • Add koussa to boiling Laban, cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Add crushed garlic with dried mint to mixture. Boil for another 5 minutes
  • Serve with spring onions and fresh mint. Bon Appétit!
